Holly Ho

As members of Jan Robinson's North West Golden Retriever Rescue team http://www.retrieverrescue.net I was called to pick Holly up from a relative of a couple who due to personal reasons could no longer look after her. I was told she was 4 years old and whilst she obviously had a pedigree and had been well cared for going by her condition, the owners had lost the paper work, so we have no idea exactly how old she was or anything about her background.

I picked Holly up mid week but at the time I was very busy work wise so was not able to take her up to Jan's at Rescue in Chorley, so I said I would look after her and take her up at the weekend. Well... needless to say we fell in love with her during those few days and so decided we just had to keep her.

Being a rescue we couldn't help but spoil her, I suppose trying to make up for lost time we just wanted her to have a happy life. Fortunately she had a healthy life with little illness, but it helps when one of your closest and oldest friends Ian is a Vet. Holly hated the car so we didn't go very far with her on day's out. She also had the luxury of what she would call her second home with Pauline & Alan in Greasby  where she went and stayed whenever we were away, so this meant she never went into kennels, talk about being spoilt...

She was a complete treasure and we loved her to bits. She had a wonderful and loving nature, she would let friends dogs come and lie in her bed and take her toys and she just stood back and watched them, non of I'm top dog, non of putting them in their place, she was just a big soft lump of joy.

Our Lovely Holly Ho December 2017

2018

On 10th January 2018 we sadly had to say goodbye to our lovely Holly.

She came into our lives at the approximate age of 4, we had her for 12 years to December 2017 which would make her around 16 years of age, as she was so white she did not show her age and still looked beautiful until the end.

She has been an absolutely adorable and loving dog in every way.

She will be so missed by all who knew her, Especially us.
